"I can be a Peacemaker"
Activity and Craft - Gather all 8 hearts and complete your peacemakers board to earn an "I can be a peacemaker" bracelet.
Lots of talk about "Peacemaking" from the bethren lately. When Gary E. Stevenson talked quite about it this October conference, I knew I had to make an activity all about being a peacemaker.
The idea is children/youth collect each heart (trick or treat style or maybe hide and seek). Then they have to cut out the heart and glue it to thier peacemakers page. If using candy, I would fold the heart in half and use provided candy wrappers.
Before the activity, the leader prints 1 set per child. Then once hearts/candy wrappers/bracelet page is cut up, put all similar hearts together. For example, if 12 kids will be at the activity, put all 12 number "1" hearts together in either a bowl or bag or whatever, all together. If I were doing this activity trick or treat style, I would put all number "1" hearts in a bag and in a room in the church. Then instruct the children to only get 1 of each. So they end up with one of each of the 8 hearts.
Added twists: trick or treat for your hearts, or leader hides hearts well for a game of hide and seek. Candy optional, not inlcluded.
