Book of Mormon Scavenger Hunt Primary Activity - Scripture Hero Lesson and Trivia - Come follow me, Family Home Evening

I was finding myself needing a refresher one some scripture heroes and know that my kids could use one too! This a little tib bit on some of our favorite scripture heroes! This scavenger hunt board also acts as a timeline (that was helpful to me!)

Depending on how long you want this part of the activity to take.... you can make these clues harder/easier to find!

Then to start the lesson, have a volunteer come to the front to start reading a hero story. Have them read each bullet point until someone can guess who the person is. You can have them read the rest of the bullet points too if you want.

Once completed, the scavenger hunt board should look like this :)

And then to top off the activity depending on your timing... if you can bring a lap top and end the activity with this "Jeoparty" game to test what they learned!

Primary Activity Taste Off - Healthy eating lesson or just a fun taste testing activity! Primary Activity Days Idea

So my friend did a taste off activity and said it was a huge hit (I mean, aren't activities centered around food usually?!) So I wanted to make this "placemat" to make this activity just a little more cohesive.

I made four different "placemats" depending on how much food you want to use and whether you want the placemat to include the Gospel Standard or not.

1. Room for 8 pairs of food & Gospel Standard is included (great for a healthy eating lesson)

2. Room for 4 pairs of food & Gospel Standard

3. Room for 8 pairs of food & no Gospel Standard (great for just a fun activity)

4. Room for 4 pairs of food & no Gospel Standard

Room for 8 pairs of food AND Gospel Standard

Room for 8 pairs of food and NO Gospel Standard

I was sharing this activity with my sister and she said having the Gospel Standard on there and then serving Oreos and Root Beer and chips might have some mixed messaging, haha... so that's why depending on how you want to use this placement it may be better to leave if off.

Here are some examples:

fun to really evaluate what kinds of healthy foods you like :)

fun to see if they can even taste a difference between the two

To make a "placemat" from the PDF, just trim the margin and tape who pieces of paper together.

Articles of Faith Scavenger Hunt - Primary Activity Days for Latter Day Saints Themed Scavenger Hunt

My kids LOVE anything called "scavenger hunt"! So I had to make this Articles of Faith Scavenger Hunt with Spring/St Patricks Day AND Easter themes.

Basically before the activity, the leader prepares and hides 13 envelopes with puzzle pieces inside. When a player find an envelope, they have to say the missing word before they can open the envelope and take their puzzle piece (don't worry, they have Holy Ghost Clues to help them). Once they all found all 13 puzzle pieces, they can put their puzzle together to look like this:

I made three different themes....

Baptismal Covenants "Jeoparty" - Teach primary kids about My Baptismal Covenants - Primary Activity Days Latter Day Saint Activity Days, FHE, Youth Activity

This baptismal covenants "Jeoparty" should be a fun way to review the covenants we make at baptism!

There are 5 categories with 6 questions in each category:

1. Fill in the blank
2. Translation?
3. Who Covenants?
4. Baptism Trivia
5. Finish this

I made this into a printable/pdf version that can be hung on a chalkboard or wall AND a PowerPoint version that's very user friendly... all you have to do is click the number and the question shows up, then click again to clear the question :)

Articles of Faith Survivor Style Activity - Super fun activity with challenges and Articles of Faith puzzles! Primary Activity Days for Latter Day Saints

This might be my most fun activity yet!! After I did the Gospel Standards Survivor  activity with my daughter and her friends, she'd been begging me to do something like that again so I tweaked it here and there and turned it into this Articles of Faith Survivor. The challenges are a bit different but same concept... Everyone is part of the "Nephite Tribe" and everyone competes in the challenges. The tribe member to win the challenge, gets to put together an Article of Faith puzzle.

So before the activity starts, it took me about 30 mins to prep for the activity. I would plan maybe 45 mins just in case. This is all you need, plus a ball, plate and writing utensil for each person.

1. Print the activity with enough written challenges/ Aof F handout for each tribe member

2. Get 1 paper plate, 1 ball (I used a ping pong type ball), and 1 pen per tribe member

3. Cut Article of Faith puzzles and wrap the puzzle holder around the pieces (this was the longest part)

4. Cut name tags and thread into necklace (optional)

5. Wrap challenges into scrolls (this is totally optional.. just made it a little more fun)

Then, once everyone gets to the activity, start the activity by providing everyone with the Articles of Faith Handout, a pen/(cil), ball and paper plate. Then read them the welcome letter and then read the first challenge.

Then start with challenge 1!

This is how the activity went for us.... the kids had a total blast and were super disappointed when it was over (how I like it). I just did it in my home but it would work really well in a church!

Everyone starts with the Articles of Faith Handout, a pen, ball and paper plate.

Let the tribe member that won immunity read the next challenge to the group

We would chant the person's name as they solved the puzzle (just to pump things up) and then we would all read the Article of Faith out loud together. Everyone would fill out their Articles of Faith handout with the missing word

I gave them the written challenges face-down and had them turn it over and start all at the same time.

My four year old joined in on some of the challenges and ended up winning one and was SUPER pumped :)
