Subway Art for Articles of Faith

It feels like yesterday that I was posting these subway art of Primary song lyrics. I made them as a gift to give the girls on their birthday or when they graduate from Primary. My plan was to print them off and put them in a cute frame. Since they became so popular I decided to also make them using the Articles of Faith. Here are some ideas:

1. They can be used to help the girls memorize the Articles. You can give the girls a copy or hang up the one you are working on at the activity.
2. They can be used as a gift when they get the article memorized. They can be encourage to collect all 13.
3. They can be printed and made into a book that can be given to girls as they enter Activity Days.

I have the PDF version that I'd be happy to e-mail you... I check my activity days email about once every 2 months. (activitydaysforfun@gmail.com). You can also get them instantly HERE.  You can also check out my "subway art 2 color" files HERE

Articles of Faith Booklet Activity

I was playing with my Articles of Faith PowerPoint a little bit and thought of this activity that I hope will help just a few more girls with memorizing their Articles of Faith. My PowerPoint has a few slides for each of the Articles of Faith in which it starts with all the words, then I start taking words away. I adapted my PowerPoint (that was 64 pages) down to just 16, and added a few things so after printing, it can be easily made into a booklet. This is something you could do for the girls, or this could be an activity where the girls make their own. This booklet ends up being just a quarter of a page which is perfect for them to fit in their scriptures and is a great quiet (church time) activity.

1. Print the PDF (1 copy for each girl).
2. Cut along the gray dotted lines
3. Put the pages in the correct order. Notice page numbers on the top right corner.
4. Bind the top. You can do this with staples, hole punch/cute ribbon, or even a ring.
5. Fill in "This book belongs to" page. If the girls are making the booklets, they can sign and decorate it.

Activity Days Scavenger Hunt - Learning and Living the Gospel

Guys- I'm like really excited about this one. It's a scavenger hunt that should work in all (typical) LDS buildings!

You will need:
- Scavenger hunt clues
-A puzzle with 9 pieces for each girl
-Envelopes for the girls to carry their pieces in
-Tape to create envelopes
-Tape for the girls to put the puzzle together

So first you start by creating the nine scavenger hunt clues. I made mine so that when you print them out you can turn them into envelopes that will hold the puzzle pieces. Here they are:

Once the clues are printed, just fold the paper on the dotted lines and then tape the sides so it creates an envelope.

Then you'll need a puzzle with 9 pieces for each girl. Once you have the puzzle cut up, put the all the pieces for one section in one envelope. For example, if you have 12 girls, put all 12 pieces to the top corner piece in the envelope for this clue:

You can really use anything you want as the puzzle, you'll just want to cut it into 9 pieces if you use 9 clues. I made this subway art below to use as the puzzle.  It follows the 2015 Primary theme  "I know My Savior Lives".

Once the girls have all the puzzle pieces together, you can sing the song (especially great if you can time the activity for when they are learning it in primary) . Get lyrics for the whole song here: I know that my Savior loves me.

You can also make an envelope for the girls (with instructions) to keep their puzzle pieces in as they are running about the building. They can decorate their envelope with their name. This would be awesome at the start of the activity to do while they are waiting for everyone to get there.

Then you just need to get to the building just a little before Activity Days starts so you can post the envelopes around the building. Just make sure you don't put a clue in the location of its answer, and you should be good. I think it would be fun to end the scavenger hunt in the kitchen with a yummy treat :).

Dinner Time Conversations

This "Dinner Time Conversations" is a great addition to an etiquette dinner activity. The girls can pull this out at dinner and make good conversation with their families :).

I made this template so you can print out the label and tape around any jar or cup. Then cut the questions and fold them like an accordion.

Label

Mason jar topper

The questions. The girls can come up with one of their own.

I like to put the tape on the inside so it doesn't show

Fancy it up with a ribbon and you're all set :)

Thankful Tree

How better to celebrate Thanksgiving and the season of giving than counting our blessings? I love this thankful tree as an activity for the girls to cut out and pin what they are thankful for, and then hang it up somewhere they can always see it to remember.

This activity is super easy, so you can make this on your own or you can use my template here

Trust in the Lord

This is my favorite scripture.

Proverbs 3:5-6

¶Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

My husband and I have had a lot of decisions to make lately. This scripture keeps popping into my head. I made this to print off and post in my house so I never forget the importance of trusting in the lord, even when it doesn't quite fit with my understanding.

Primary Songs 2 Color

Hey there!

I just made these for some girls to color during General Conference. I don't know about you... but I listen so much better when I can doodle during meetings. I also got thinking they would be good for downtime during Activity Days or even during Sunday School to help everyone stay in their seats and listen!

I have them HERE on my Esty Shop if you want them right now... or as always I can e-mail them to you when I get the chance! I might have to print some for myself!

By popular demand, I have now also made these from the Articles of Faith! Another way to help the girls with memorizing the articles in a fun way :)

Update

Hello there!!

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I've been released! I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated some of the kind e-mails I have gotten from this blog. It has been an answer to prayers to be able to help in a small way in some of the wonderful work so many of you are doing! Thank YOU!

So my friend recently showed me a little bit about Etsy. I thought I would throw some of my files up on there. I've added just a few so far... but if you want a file right away, you are welcome to visit https://www.etsy.com/shop/SnapshotPlace and get it. I check my Activity Days e-mail about once a month, so if you are willing to wait, I'm happy to send you what you would like for free when I have the time.

Thanks again to everyone and good luck!!
